OBITUARY: Alton Truett Harbison
Services for Alton Truett Harbison, 78, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Russ Fox and Stanley Graves officiating, with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harbison died Saturday, June 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Walker County on March 8, 1923 to William Columbus and Myrtle Stricklin Harbison. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Goodwin Harbison of Cullman; five sons, Glynn (Donna) Harbison of Arley, Hilly (Willette) Harbison of Crane Hill, William Teddy Harbison, Ronnie Harbison and Donnie (Vickie) Harbison, all of Cullman; a daughter, Gwen (Larry) Thompson of Cumberland, Md.; two brothers, Jack (Juanita) Harbison of Birmingham and Brent (Carolyn) Harbison of Arley; two sisters, Vessie Burrow of Crane Hill and Vernell Hardy of Cullman; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was Monday.

Mr. Alton Truett Harbison, age 78, of Cullman, died on Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1923, in Walker County, AL. Mr. Harbison was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his patrons, William Columbus Harbison and Myrtle Stricklin Harbison.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Bethany Cemetery. Reverend Russ Fox and Reverend Stanley Graves officiated the services.
Mr. Harbison is survived by his wife, Doris Goodwin Harbison, of Cullman, five sons, Glynn and wife, Donna Harbison, of Arley, Hilly and wife, Willette Harbison, of Crane Hill, William Teddy Harbison, Ronnie Harbison, Donnie and wife, Vickie Harbison all of Cullman, a daughter Gwen and husband, Larry Thompson, of Cumberland, Marlandy, two brothers, Jack and wife, Juanita Harbison, of Birmingham, and Brent and wife, Carolyn Harbison, of Arley, two sisters, Vessie Burrow, of Crane Hill, and Vernell Hardy, of Cullman, twenty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
