Edwin R. Burt, age 82, a resident of Park Forest for 53 years, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006, in Olympia Fields. Edwin is survived by his dearest wife Eleanor, nee Svihla, and loving children: Fred (Virginia) Burt and Susan (Greg) Paul; beloved grandfather of Deborah (Bill) Peterson and Amy (Ron) Johnson; cherished great-grandfather of Raymond and Ryan Peterson and Trevor Sims. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Orrin and Johanna, nee Pauly, Burt, two brothers: Fred Burt and Paul (Ellen) Burt and one sister Mayme (Alex) Brown. Edwin was an avid golfer, a member of the American Legion and a WWII veteran. He was also a member of Grace United Protestant Church in Park Forest and was devoted to his family. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Lain -Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, IL 60466. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home followed by a burial at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.
