Note #1: Served in the Revolutionary War.
Note #2: In deed book found at Fonda, New York on pages 421 and 422 dated April 20, 1810 it states"Jonathon Canfield of Mayfield, Montgomery County sold to Josiah Canfield his son of same place, for $100.00 the easterly 1/3 part of lot 25 in the Claus patent."
Note #3: On May 2, 1821Jonathon Canfield sold to his son Josiah Canfield now in possession, part of lot 28, west side of highway containing 43 acres.
