Marshall Franklin Harbison 1932 - 2008 Marshall was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on September 22, 1932 to Arthur and Sarah Harbison. Two years later, the family moved to Chowchilla, CA where they prospered as farmers. After high school, he joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Bremerton as a gunners mate in the Korean conflict. He married his high school sweetheart Katherine Waller in 1954 and they settled in Chowchilla where he continued the family farming business with his father. In 1965, they moved to Norwalk, CA where he worked for Douglas Aircraft for 11 years. They moved to Bakersfield in 1976 to work in the Oil Industry. He began his own company in 1982 as a top fluid level consultant to companies in Bakersfield and surrounding areas. He battled heart disease for many years while still working at the business he loved. He passed away cared for and surrounded by family, keeping his sense of humor to the end. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Martha, brother, Morford, and granddaughter, Briana. He leaves behind Katherine, his wife and partner of 54 years. Children and spouses, Pete and Alison Harbison Marcella Kennedy, Nancy and Ron Flores, Michael and Sherry Harbison, Angel and Max Newman, all of Bakersfield. Grandchildren, Katrina and Tim Martin, Tessa and Jared Cloud, Clarissa Flores, Ethan Flores, Andrea Moore, Gail Harbison, Kevin Harbison, Michalyn Harbison, Nathan Harbison, Courtney and Jeremiah Gulick, Brian Kennedy, Jason Kennedy, Brenna, Bronwyn and Mairin Newman. Great Grandchildren, Kalem, Hayden, Hunter, Wyatt, Maverick, Bradley, Logan and Collin. Brother, Leonard Harbison. Special inlaws, Mark and Debbie Quinn. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to those who gave their good thoughts, wishes and prayers throughout his illness. Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93306.
