GUEST, John W. November 23, 1889 Mariposa Gazette:
Mr. John W. GUEST, a pioneer of the county, died at his home in Bear Valley on Friday the 15th instant. He had always been a quiet, good citizen, and for many years had made Bear Valley his home. He leaves a large family all of whom are grown and nearly all reside in this county. He was an honored member of Oso Lodge No. 110, I.O.O.F. and was buried under the auspices of that order. The funeral which took place on Saturday, was largely attended, a number of our citizens being present. Mr. GUEST was a native of England, and was aged 59 years.

Mrs. Sarah GUEST, a former resident of Bear Valley, died at the home of her son, B. A. CONDREY, near Modesto, on Thursday. The remains will be brought to Bear Valley and the funeral held this afternoon.

Mrs. Sarah Guest died at the home of her son, B. A. Condrey, in Modesto on Thursday of last week and interment was make at Bear Valley, Mariposa county, last Saturday. Mrs. Guest was a native of England and was aged 71 years. She resided in Mariposa county for many years previous to moving to Modesto to make her home with her son. She leaves three son, B. A. Condrey and C. H. Condrey of Modesto, and George Condrey of Mt. Bullion, Mariposa county.
