Ernest passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Melita, MB. He was 70 years old. Ernie and Grace had been staying at the farm of Gerald Brigden while Gerald & Florence had been in Winnipeg with Kevin concerning his open heart surgery. Ernie, had lived his entire life in the community, until semi-retiring to Melita, in October of 1970. He received his education at Trembley school and was a member of the United Church. His marriage to Grace Newcomb took place on December 6, 1922 at Napinka. Funeral services were held from Napinka United Church on Saturday, May 6, 1972. at 2:00 p.m. Rev. J. Buttars officiated.600

Grace passed away Sunday, March 19, 1989 in the Personal Care Home, Melita, MB. She was born April 1, 1903, the youngest child of William and Florence Newcomb. Grace continued to live in her home until September 1987 when she suffered a severe stroke and became a resident of the Personal Care Home In January 1988. Grace enjoyed life. She loved music, all kinds of crafts such as crocheting and quilting and gardening especially flowers. The funeral was held in Zion United Church, Napinka, Manitoa, Tuesday March 21, at 2 p.m. Rev Roy Nicol-Macdonald officiating. Internment Napinka cemetery.600
