A pretty wedding was solemnized in Purple Hill United Church on Wednesday, October 25, 1950 at 11 a.m. when Dorothy Lily, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Brigden, of Napinka, was united in marriage to John Reid Learmonth youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Learmonth of Medora, Man. Rev. W.O. Robinson officiated at the double ring ceremony The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Russell Lamont, the groom was attended by his brothers, Mr. Wilfred Learmonth of Brandon, Stanley and Gerald Brigden, brother of the bride, were ushers. Mrs. A.W. Brigden, aunt of the bride, played the wedding music and Miss Irene Brigden, cousin of the bride sang "Because" A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The happy couple left bymotor for Windsor and Colbourne, Ontario. On their return they will reside on the groom's farm southeast of Medora.

Dorothy Lily Brigden was born July 15, 1927, one of four children. On October 25, 1950, she married John Learmonth. They were blessed with three daughters, Donna, Barbara and Beverley. They lived on the farm at Medora until November 1984 when they moved to their new home in Brandon. Dorothy took a great interest in her family and home.600
