It would appear that David was born in the family homestead on the Bethel Road and remained there most of his life. He died in 1934 in South Fredricksburgh, probably at the home of his daughter Agnes Instant.

David Smith: He played his violin and stepdanced on his 70th birthday. He died in 1934 and is buried at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Camden East, Ontario.25
