Fitchett: In Viet Nam, June 19, 1971. Reginald W. Fitchett, husband of Mrs. Bernadette {Bernie} Fitchett; father of Reginald W. Fitchett Jr.; son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Fitchett; brother of Rebecca, Shawn, Walter and Vance Fitchett; grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Les Fitchett and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shofner.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday, July 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn. Interment in the Calvary Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Fort Ord.

R. W. Fitchett Loses Life in Vietnam

Services are pending at Ivers and Alcorn for Spec. 5 Reginald W. Fitchett, U.S. Army, who died June 19 while serving in Vietnam.
Fitchett, 28, attended local schools before enlisting in the Army where he served a tour of duty in Germany before reenlisting for six years.
He requested to be sent to Vietnam where he had been serving since 1966 with an engineer battalion.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Fitchett, a son, Reginald Jr., both of Sunnyvale; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Fitchett; two sisters, Rebecca and Shawn Fitchett, all of Wee Waa, Australia and two brothers, Vance of Wee Waa, and Walter of Fresno; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Fitchett of Merced and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shofner of Santa Cruz.

Services were held at the Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn in Merced on Friday for Spec. 5 Reginald W. Fitchett, 28, who died in Vietnam on June 19. He had served a tour of duty in Germany before reenlisting, serving in Vietnam since 1966 as an engineer batallion.
