He was chief singer for the Sabbatarian Church of Westerly, formany years, and served as Clerk of the Church for a long period.Major Joseph Clarke was deputy for Westerly, 1756. He was alsoa magistrate at Westerly, R. I., and served in Revolutionary Warin a company called out and organized by Town Meeting 29 Nov1776, to serve 3 months. He was sent to Newport to replace Col.Richmond's Regiment, which was sent to New York.
