Newton Lee Blodgett, age 66, owner and CEO of Filt-Air Corp., passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003. He was a resident of Hornitos for 3 years. He was born April 8, 1937, in Merced, California, to the late Newton Thomas Blodgett and Geneva Ann Shackelford. Newton served in the U.S. Air Force. On March 11, 1988, he was united in marriage to Paula Beth Hill. Newton was a wonderful father and step father who was well loved by his children. Newton's favorite place was Yosemite National Park. Some of his hobbies included camping, traveling, golf, and square dancing. Newton will be missed greatly.
Newton is survived by his beloved wife of seventeen years Paula Blodgett of Hornitos, California; three sons Michael Blodgett of Oakland California, Ron Blodgett and Brian Blodgett both from Phoenix, Arizona; three step daughters Lynette Larson of Reno, Annette Argo of Denver, and Karen Green; a brother Scott Shackelford of Sacramento, California and two sisters Judi Arthur of Merced, California and Jeanie Whitmore of Prunedale, California; Six step grandchildren, and one step great grandchild.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M.8:00 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home 901 W. Main St. Merced, California. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 2, 2003 at Lord Speaker Cemetery in Hornitos, Calfornia.
