Alyce M. Cunningham, 89, of Traverse City, died Tuesday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born July 1, 1910, in Bellaire, she was the daughter of Louis J. and Zina M. (Brodrick) Lambert. On June, 7, 1933, in Bellaire, she married Lawrence L. Cunningham who preceded her in death.
Alyce was a graduate of the Traverse City State Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered nurse and retired from Munson Hospital in 1983. Alyce was a member of the First Congregational Church of Traverse City and she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and sharing the produce with others, and visiting family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (John) St. Germain and Lois M. "Duffy" Cunningham - both of Grand Ledge [MI]; one sister, Daisy M. Wilson of Bellaire [MI]; two sons-in-law, David L. Janousek of Elijay, GA and Bernard "Bud" LaMarche of Traverse City; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Carolyn Janousek and Sharon LaMarche; three brothers, Verd Lambert, Vern Lambert and Jack Lambert; three sisters, Lillian Genter, Bertha Groesser and Rebecca Spencer; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Friday at First Congregational Church in Traverse City with Rev. Dr. Gary Hogue officiating. Visitation will also be at the church Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.1083
