Died at Milton, Wis., March 30, 1890, George Stillman Burdick aged 88 years 1 month and 19 days. The deceased was born in Stonington, R. I. and married Miss Diana Macomber, July 13th, 1826. Nearly 14 years ago they celebrated their golden wedding in the home where they have since resided, and where were assembled a large circle of relatives and friends. The deceased and his surviving companion came to Wisconsin in 1842 and settled on a farm in the township of Lima. They united by letter with the S. D. B. church of Milton Dec. 5th, 1850. They have four children, all of whom are still living in Milton. The deceased was an esteemed member of the church and community, leading a life beyond reproach, an example to all, of honesty, sincerety and Christian integrity. Uncle George, as he was familiarly called, was a great favorite with all, a thoughtful student of the Word of God, and died in the triumph of the Christian faith. The funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 1st., in the church of which he was a member, conducted by the pastor. Sermon, Phil. 1:21, "For me to live in Christ, and to die is gain."
