Joseph Arnold, son of Caleb Arnold, is also a somewhat obscure figure, though more is known of him that of his father. With the date of his birth, however, we are not acquainted, but we know that he died in 1776, and that he was twice married, the first time to Abigail Gifford, November 23, 1732, and the second time to Hannah Gifford, in August, 1737.
