Mrs. Grace Sanford, daughter of Alberne and Josephine Dunham Burdick, was born Sept. 14, 1893, in New Market, N. J., and died March 15, 1970, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, N. Y.
She was a graduate of Pratt Institute of New York City and Drexel Institute of Philadelphia, Pa., and did graduate work at Penn State University.
She was a teacher in New Brunswick, N. J., and head of the Home Economics Department at Radnor High School, Wayne, Pa., for 35 years. Retiring in 1956, she became a house mother at Eastern Baptist College, St. David, Pa., until 1958. On June 14, 1958, she married Mark Sanford.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepsons, Gordon Sanford of Little Genesee and the Rev. Don Sanford of Milton, Wis.; two brothers, Frank Burdick of Holly Hill, Fla., and Dr. H. O. Burdick of Alfred; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sanford was a member and served as deaconess of the Little Genesee Seventh Day Baptist Church.
The funeral was held from the church, conducted by the Rev. Don Sanford and her pastor. Burial was in Wells Cemetery at Little Genesee. H. D. K.

Mark O. Sanford was born in the Town of Genesee, N. Y., April 14, 1892, a son of Albert and Salina Barber Sanford. He married the former Edna Burdick in New Market, N. J., in 1921. She died in 1957. He then married the former Grace Burdick in 1958, who died in 1970.
Surviving are two sons, Gordon L. Sanford of Little Genesee, N. Y., and the Rev. Don A. Sanford of Milton, Wis.; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Mark was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Little Genesee; a teacher in the Sabbath School; a deacon, trustee, and a licensed (life license) lay minister of his church. He served as lay pastor of the Waterford, Conn., church and was also a missionary pastor of the church at Fouke, Ark.
He filled many other responsible positions in the community and of Western New York. He was noted for the maple syrup which he boiled down on his farm at Little Genesee.
Memorial services were held at the Little Genesee church with his son, the Rev. Don A. Sanford, giving the tribute. Rev. Kenneth B. Van Horn officiated. K. B. V. H.
