In 1825, he and his wife, Betsey, and his mother, Sarah, sell land in Fairfield, Manheimm twonship, Herkimer Co, New York to Nathan H. Westcott. They are next recorded as "of Adams, Defferson Co, NY." and in the census of 1835 were enumerated at Clayton. His mother accompanied them to a farm about four miles from Clayton, where they all died. He purchased this farm in 1849, which, May 5, 1866, four years following his death, his son, Farnum W., then living in Watsonville, Santa Cruz Co, Calif., deeded his interest to his sister, Adeline M. wife of A. Truman Perrigo, who continued to live on the old homestead. At his death, his real estate was valued at $700. His grave and those of his sons, George and Orlando, in the Clayton village cemetery, are marked with one stone, at the side of which is the marker of the G.A.R. indicating the father and two sons were killed during the the Rebellion. Issue seven children, all found on 1850 census at Clayton. (Stukely Westcott, Vol. 2, Pgs. 183-184, 1939)193
