In Memory of Mrs. Lula Strickland

My Sister dear has passed away,
Oh how sad that awfull day.
Sod has called my Sister dear.,
From this Earth where there is no fear,

Where no tears shall dim her eyes.
In that great home of Paradise.
She’s gone to join that Angel Band,
To Gods’ great home not made with hand.

By the Bible we are told,
God has prepared a hope for the soul,
And if we obey the Lords’ command,
We soon shall shake my Sisters hand.

My Sister was one of our treasured friends,
Why God took her we can’t understand.
But in his precious word we read,
God has all power and we must heed.

She was the sunshine in all our homes,
But now she has left us all alone.
How can we bear to live down here,
And one of our treasured ones up there?

She will never know the grief we felt,
That sad Wednesday when she left.
It was on the first day of December, 1954,
She closed her eyed forever more.

Some of her loved ones were there that day.
The others were very far away,
We called; they came, but alas-too late,
For Sister dear had slipped inside the pearly gate.

May god above help share our grief,
For Sister dear has found relief.
She’s in that home so sweet,
Where someday we all share meet.

We love her-yes we loved her, But Angels loved her more,
And they have sweetly called her,
To Yonder Golden shore.
