Native of Mohawk Valley and descendant of Anneke Jans, who was one of the eleven children of William, the Silent, of Orange and Holland. (Stukely Westcott, Vol. 2, Pg. 300, 1939)
The Bogardus line descends from Rev. Evardus Bogardus and Anneka Jans, who settled in New Amsterdam. At one point, they owned a 62 a. farm “Domine Bouerey” in what is now “The Bowery,” NYC.
