O. T. Babcock, 57, registrar of Milton college since 1925, was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage Monday in Omaha, Neb., and died Tuesday afternoon in Clarkson hospital of that city.
Mr. Babcock and his wife were driving to Milton from Tucson, Ariz. where he had been since January for his health. Mrs. Babcock left for Arizona about 10 days ago.
Oscar True Babcock was born Feb. 7, 1895, in North Loup, Nebr., the son of Edwin J. Babcock and Jessie True. He attended North Loup schools and the University of Nebraska where he received a certificate to practice law. He practiced law from 1921 to 1923. In 1923 he entered Milton college and graduated from that institution in 1925. He became registrar of Milton college in 1925 and taught political science.
On Sept. 5, 1927, he married Beulah Vincent, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Vincent, Milton. They have one son, Bryce, a senior at Milton college.
Mr. Babcock served for a number of years as a clerk on the high school board. He was a member of the Milton village board at the time of his death, and he had served a number of terms as justice of peace for the village.
Besides his wife and son, Mr. Babcock is survived by his mother, two brothers, Edwin and Arthur, and a sister Katharine. His father and a brother, Archie, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church with the Rev. Elmo Fitz Randolph officiating. The Milton college choir, under the direction of Prof. B. H. Westlund, will provide music. Burial will be in the Milton cemetery.
The body arrived this morning at the Albrecht funeral home where friends may call this evening

Beulah Babcock Kaase, 92, of Milton, died at Mercy Manor, Janesville, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998.
She was born June 23, 1906, in Milton, the daughter of Floyd and Mignon (Whitford) Vincent. She entered Milton Union High School as a freshman when it first opened in October of 1920, graduating in 1924. She graduated from Milton College in 1942 with a philosophy degree. She married O.T. Babcock on Sept. 5, 1927. He was a registrar of Milton College from 1925 until his death in March of 1952. She then married Paul G. Kaase in December, 1957; he died in February, 1968. She was the assistant registrar for Milton College from 1973 to 1985. She was awarded the Pillar of Milton Award on June 7, 1986. She belonged to the Milton College Alumni Association and was active in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church for many tears.
She is survived by a son, Bryce (Zenaida) Babcock of Cottonwood, Ariz.; a sister, Doris Baker of Dade City, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Rev. George Calhoun officiated. Burial was in Milton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Main Hall Preservation Society, c/o Kristin Kresal, P.O. Box 84, Milton. Albrecht Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
