Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, in the Albrecht funeral home for Mrs. George R. Greene, 91, who died Sunday in a Janesville nursing home. Dr. Carroll L. Hill officiated and Kenneth A. Babcock gave the song service. Burial was in Milton cemetery. Pallbearers were B. R. Rood, D. N. Inglis, W. H. Waterman and C. A. Nelson.
The former Elsie Louise Castle, daughter of Asher and Louisa Bishop Castle, was born Nov. 17, 1864, at Whitewater. She was married to George R. Greene, July 28, 1886. They lived in Milton, where he was employed as a buttermaker, and then went to Whitewater, where he was employed in a flour mill and later was a farmer. They lived at Hancock, Wis., for 20 years and at Coloma before returning to Milton. He died June 22, 1941. She was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, George J., of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Millard, Janesville, and four grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Milton - George Rowland Greene, 78, died Sunday night in his home at 522 Greenman street here after an illness of more than a year. He was a retired farmer and stationery engineer.
The son of Stillman and Annie Crandall Greene, he was born Sept. 26, 1862 in Dakota, Wis., coming to Milton in 1914 where he was employed for seven years as an engineer. He was married to Elsie L. Castle in Whitewater July 28, 1886, and they made their home in Whitewater, Coloma and Milton where he followed the occupation of farming.
Survivors are his wife; a son, George Jr., Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Millard, Milton, formerly Amy Green who was an attendant at the Rock county asylum; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Gray-Albrecht funeral home, the Rev. C. L. Hill, pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Milton cemetery.
