Amy Catherine (Greene) Millard 1899-1974

Mrs. Amy Millard, 74, of 1401 Barham Ave., died this morning at Homestead Convalescent Center after a four month illness.
The former Amy Greene was born Dec. 22, 1899, at Coloma, and later lived in Milton where she graduated from Milton College. She taught in Darlington area schools prior to her marriage Sept. 3, 1939, to Lyle A. Millard, and had lived in Janesville since 1939. She was a member of Cargill Methodist Church, charter member of Rock County Historical Society and active in the Republican Party. Her husband died in 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Catharine Clark, and a son, Stanley, both of Janesville; four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church chapel, with burial in Milton Cemetery. There is no visitation prior to services. Overton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lyle A. Millard, 56, 1401 Barham Ave., died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in Mercy Hospital following a few weeks illness. For more than 15 years he was a truck driver for T. S. Willis, contractor.
Born in Johnstown Sept. 3, 1907, he was the son of Frank and Mae Williams Millard. He married Amy Greene in Dubuque, Iowa, Sept. 3, 1939.
Mr. Millard was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Stanley Millard, Janesville; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Clark, Janesville; two brothers, Roy Millard, Fulton Township, and Alvin Campbell, Pardeeville; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Scherwinsky, Park Falls, and Mrs. David Groves, Tempe, Ariz.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Overton Funeral Home, the Rev. Walter Holliday, Cargill Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
