Mrs. A.A. Nyland, 46, Tucson, Ariz., was killed in an automobile accident in Tucson Friday.
The former Dorothy Babcock, daughter of Milton and Edith Babcock, was born May 8, 1912, on the present Willard Babcock farm near Albion. She was educated in the local schools and later graduated from the Milton College School of Music. She was very active in musical circles and always delighted her audiences with her exceptional ability. At one time she was Music Director of Madison radio station WHA, organist in various churches, teacher of piano and organ, and after moving to Tucson, Ariz., was accompanist for the Tucson Ariz. Boys Choir. For several years she had been employed by Harmony House Organ Co., demonstrating and promoting sales. She was a member of the Organist Guild.
At an early age she joined the Albion Seventh Day Baptist church of which she was still a member and was always active in church work wherever she made her home.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard Sayre, by a former marriage; a brother Willard Babcock, Albion and a sister, Mrs. Norman Chatfield, Milton Junction; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday in Tucson, Ariz.

Maurice C. Sayre, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1996, at his home in Auburn, Calif.
He was born April 25, 1906 in Dodge Center, Minn., the son of Rev. and Mrs. Charles S. Sayre. He attended Albion Grade School, Child High School in Edgerton and graduated from Milton College with a bachelor's degree in Music. He earned a master's degree in public school music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He married Dorothy Babcock in 1931 in Albion. They had one son, Richard Dean. In 1951 he married Ruth Bushnell of Tucson, Ariz. He taught high school music in Hume, Ill., Whitewater, Wis., and Tucson, Ariz. He retired in 1971. He directed the SPEBSQSA Janesville Barbershop Chorus, was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard and the Military Amateur Radio Service, called MARS.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Linda) Sayre, two stepsons, Dr. Theodore Bushnell of Bethesda, Md.; Dr. Robert Bushnell (Elizabeth) of Roseville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents and his brother, Walter R. Sayre.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 1996, at Chapel on the Hill, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, Calif. Memorials may be made to the Main Hall Preservation Society, 513 College St., Milton.
