Oscar Fred Hartman, 80, died unexpectedly, Monday, May 27, at his home, 168, W. Madison Ave., of an apparent heart attack.
The son of John and Ottillie Weidensee Hartman was born July 21, 1893 in Big Springs, Nebraska. His family moved to Bushnell, Illinois until he came to Milton Junction.
He served in France during World War I and was a machinist at The Burdick Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 1956. As a member of the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist Church he served on the Board of Trustees.
He was previously married to Gladys Anderson, who died in 1942 and on October 6, 1945 married Leora Gray.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Lantry, Wichita, Kansas; and Mrs. Edith Barrett, Jacksonville, Fla., nieces and nephews.
Preceding him also in death were two sisters and one brother.
Rev. Addison Appel will officiate at 3 p.m. services Thursday, May 30, at Albrecht Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m.
Burial will be at Milton Junction Cemetery with Ivan FitzRandolph, Wendell Einerson, William Powell, Harry Yale, Wesley Loofboro, all of Milton Junction and Leland Shaw, Milton, serving as pallbearers.

Leora Hartman, 93, died Friday, Dec. 29, 1995, at the Rock County Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 20, 1902, in Milton, the daughter of Carl and Annabelle (Vincent) Gray. She lived her entire life in this area, graduating from Milton Junction High School in 1920. She had been a secretary at Burdick Corp. She was married to Oscar Hartman on Oct. 6, 1945, in Iowa; he died in 1974. She was a member of the Albion Seventh Day Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Joe Rabiola of Milton; five nieces; two nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Campbell Tucker and Evelyn Rabiola; and a brother, Donald Gray.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Albrecht Funeral Home. Burial was in the Milton Junction Cemetery.
