MILTON - Ida M. Loofboro, age 96, formerly of the Milton area, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Rock Haven Nursing Home. She was born on October 11, 1914 in Missouri, the daughter of the late Edgar and Harriett (Skaggs) Grant. Ida moved to the Milton area as a child and graduated from Milton Union High School. She later married Howard Loofboro on December 12, 1937. He predeceased her on December 18, 1996. Ida was a very active member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Along with raising her family, Ida worked at Nunn Bush Shoes in Edgerton and worked on the family farm with her husband. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Tom) Eckwright of Edgerton; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Ronald Loofboro; 3 sisters: Mary, Helen and her twin sister: Ella; and her brother: Claude.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Whitcomb - Lynch - Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. George Calhoun officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made in Ida's name to Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Private burial will be held on Monday at Milton Junction Cemetery.

Howard C. Loofboro, 89, of 7219 E. Schmidt Road, Fort Atkinson, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville.
He was born Aug. 23, 1907, in Welton, Iowa, the son of Wade and Eusebia (Coon) Loofboro. He was a graduate of Welton High School and had attended Milton College. He married Ida Grant in Welton on Dec. 12, 1937. They farmed in the Milton area until 1950, when they moved to the Fulton area and continued farming. In the late 1960s, they returned to the Milton area and he worked at the Burdick Corp. for eight years until his retirement. He was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Fulton Masonic Lodge #69, and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, of Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Dorothy (Thomas) Eckwright, Edgerton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Loofboro, in January 1992 and a brother Wesley.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 23, 1996 at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Rev. George Calhoun officiated. Interment was in the Milton Junction Cemetery. Henning Funeral Home, Milton, assisted the family.
