At Albion, Wis., Nov. 4th, 1865, of consumption, Mrs. Frances E. Saunders, wife of Capt. Oliver P. Saunders, aged 43 years.   Sister Saunders made a profession of religion in early life, and walked worthy of her profession.   Her sickness was protracted, but she bore her affliction with true Christian heroism.   A devoted family smoother her pathway, as day by day she neared her journey’s end, until she fell asleep.     A. Captain Perry Saunders, as he was usually called, followed the life of a sailor for twenty-five years of his early manhood, most of his voyages being to the West Indies and South America. In 1865 he located in southern Wisconsin, purchasing a farm near Lake Koshkonong, where his taste for rowing and hunting could be satisfied. His first marriage was to Miss Emaline Crandall, who died in the autumn of 1865, the same year in which they moved to Wisconsin. In 1866 he was married to Miss Sarah Ann Crandall, a sister of his former wife, who survives to mourn his loss. Two sons and a daughter also survive him. He was an active businessman, at the time of his death holding the office of President of the Town Insurance Company, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the school district. In the absence of Pastor Babcock, of Albion, Pastor Geo. W. Burdick, of Milton Junction, conducted the funeral services, Oct. 21. G. W.B.
