Buried on own farm in what is known as Card Family cemetary, near Wyoming, RI. (See Lewisiana, Vol.6 p.116) He m. 1st, 1694, by Tobias Saunders, J.P. to Jane Babcock b. ca 1668, in Westerly, d. March 23, 1717. Dau. of James Babcock and Jane Brown. M. 2nd Mary Marsh. On August 9, 1688, he had a "two-years heifer" given him by Will of Tobias Saunders and was to keep her and her increase till his time was out, and if he proved faithful the cow and increase both to be his, and a gun and a sow also. At the decease of Israel Lewis, administration was granted October 12, 1719 to Benjamin Lewis, second son of deceased. Inventory 880 pounds, 1 shilling, 16 pence including 2 wheels, pair of cards, pair of combs, warming pan, 4 oxen, 4 steers, bull, 5 cows, 8 heifers, 7 two-years, 7 yearlings, 6 calves, 4 mares, 1/2 of 2 mares, 1/2 of a horse, 3 horses, 5 colts, 9 sheep, 4 swine, cheese press, carpenters tools, shoemakers tool, etc. Housing and land amounted to 600 pounds. Westerly records state birth of son Elisha "at which time father was dead".
