Hildagarde Mina Ardena (Ambrose) Clarke 1893-1968

Mrs. Harlow O. Clarke, Milton, died Wednesday night, Oct. 2, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, where she had undergone surgery six weeks ago.
Funeral services were held a 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in the Wolfgram Funeral Home, Janesville, the Rev. Odyss Kneece, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Milton Cemetery.
The former Hilda Ambrose was born April 5, 1893, in Jefferson and was married to Harlow Clarke, Jan. 29, 1913. He died in 1966. She was a resident of rural Janesville and Rock County most of her life, moving to Milton after the death of her husband.
Survivors are two sons, Harlow, Westminster, Calif., and Duane, Whitewater; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Schiefelbein, Black River Falls; Mrs. George Starks and Mrs. Glen Howard, both of Janesville; Mrs. Donald Kramer, Santa Ana, Calif.; Lucille Clarke, Beloit, and Mrs. Lloyd Wincapaw, Rockford, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Paul Ambrose, Janesville.

Harlow O. Clarke, 76, R. 2, Janesville, a member of a pioneer Rock County family, died Monday morning, April 18, in Mercy Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, Rev. Elmo Randolph officiating with burial in the Milton Cemetery.
Born in Milton Sept. 27, 1889, he was the son of Irving Benton and Rosella Osborne Clarke. He was graduated from Milton high school and attended Milton Academy. He was pitcher for the Milton high school baseball team which won the state championship in 1910.
Mr. Clarke and Hilda A. Ambrose were married Jan. 29, 1913. He was employed at Parker Pen Company, Janesville, until his retirement in 1958. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harlow R. of Westminster, Calif., and Duane R. of Whitewater; five daughters, Mrs. Anna Schiefelbein and Mrs. George Starks, both of Janesville, Mrs. Donald Kramer of Beloit, Mrs. Glen Howard of R. 3, Janesville, and Mrs. Lloyd Wincapaw of Rockford; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Howard in California.
