Notes for Hannah BAKER
Daughter of George Baker, 1731-May 20, 1811, from Ireland and setted at Schuyler, Herkimer Co, New York. Gardiner and Hannah and her father, are buried in an abandoned cemetery near their old home. Old records state they were of town of Killingly, Conn., but evidently accompanied his father to Deerfield, for there is record of them there as early as 1799. (Stukely Westcott, Vol. 2, Pgs. 246-247, 1939)
Notes for Gardiner (Spouse 1)
There are deeds of record of land transfers between Elisha, Johnson and Gardiner, Jr., and their parents in 1830; Axey and Johnson in 1833; James and wife Mercy, in 1845. Hannah, widow of Gardiner, deeds land to Gardiner, Jr., and wife Mary Ann, in 1856; to John and wife Adah, then of Oxbow, Jefferson Co, New York, in 1859; to Gardiner, Jr., agin in 1860. In 1860, the mother was living in Schuyler. (Stukely Westcott, Vol. 2, Pg. 247, 1939)
