Gersholm and Bethia lived in Norwich in 1678, in Westerly in 1679 and subsquent living in No. Kingston. On sep 17, 1679 he is recorded as having taken the Oath of Allegiance. Again, on Feb 23, 1693, he sold a quarter share of land (100 acres plus housing etc.) in Westerly, to William Champlain for 95 pounds. According to Westerly town records Land Evidence: Book 1, page13 Gersholm Cottrell chosen Constable for year May 30, 1689. Also according to the diary of Thomas Minor , Stonington, Conn. 1653-84 p. 154-1679, 17 April. "I delivered the deed of my fif(t)ish ackers of land to Gersholm Cottrell there is still due me 20 shillings of money.
