Mercy (Davis) Davis 1805-1874
"Sabbath Recorder", Vol 30, No 16, p 3, 16 April 1874.
In Milton, Wis., March 28th, 1874, after a protracted illness, Mercy DAVIS, wife of Jeremiah DAVIS, in the 70th year of her age. The deceased united, at the age of fifteen, with the church at Alfred, N.Y., under the ministerial labors of Eld. Daniel BABCOCK, and ever after made good her profession by a well-ordered and godly life. In 1836, her husband and family removed to Wisconsin, residing first at Milton, then at Berlin, and then at Milton again. Sister Davis has been a sufferer for many years from an asthmatic difficulty, which at last wore out a constitution of more than ordinary endurance. She was patient in all her suffering, supported by a firm and comfortable hope in Christ. A husband and seven children survive her. Her funeral was attended on the 30th of March, and a sermon preached on the occasion from John 17:24. L. C. R.
