Census: 1880 Milton, Rock Co., Wisconsin

He enlisted in the Army on November 26, 1861 as a private in the13th Infantry, Company K. He was mustered out of service on January 7, 1865. His company didn't disband until December1865, but it would make sense that he got out early when his wife Lucinda died a couple of weeks prior. He must have soon thereafter married Rosa Unk., and since she didn't died until 1878, Gertrude must be her daughter, and she was born in Wisconsin. Emily Yates was living as the wife of Joseph in June1880, so assuming they married, it must have been sometime between Mar 1878 & June 1880.
