Coroner IDs victim of landfill accident
WEST COVINA -- Coroner's officials on Friday identified the man killed when his bulldozer fell 500 feet down a ravine at a former landfill.
An autopsy for 64-year-old Jerry Brown hasn't been done yet.
On Thursday afternoon, Brown was clearing brush at the former BKK site at 2210 S. Azusa Ave. when the bulldozer rolled over and rolled down a hillside, according to West Covina Sgt. David Melnyk.
The sheriff's San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team helped recover the body. The team carried the victim to a dirt road where a vehicle could reach it.
CAL-OSHA, which deals with workplace injuries and fatalities, is conducting the investigation into the death, Melnyk said.

Jerry Lee Brown, Sr
Born September 4, 1939 in Celina, Texas. He moved with his family to California when he was 11 (April 1950). He married Barbara Morgan September 22, 1962 after a very short courtship. He often wondered out loud how she ever was able to marry such a good looking guy.
Preceded in death by his father General M. Brown.

- son Jerry Jr., his fiancee Julie Kriakin and her children Anthony and Alexi;

- grandchildren (the apples in his eyes) Kyle Ian Brown
- and Alexandra Morgan Clark.
