Donald Rodden employed in Detroit arrived home Saturday for a week visit
with his parents Mr & Mrs Oscar Rodden.

Mr & Mrs Donald Rodden of Detroit are here for an extended visit with the
formers mother Mrs. Lottie Rodden.

Issue: July 27, 1940
Mr & Mrs Don Rodden left last Friday for Detroit where Mrs Rodden joined
her father for a trip to Kentucky. Don returned home on Saturday.

At the First Methodist Church in Detroit on Saturday, March 25, occured a pretty but quiet wedding when Miss Elese, daughter of Mr & Mrs D.C. Andesson of Detroit was united in marriage to Donald Rodden, son on Mr & Mrs Oscar Rodden, of this place. The bride is a teacher in the schools at Detroit, while the groom, a graduate of the local high school has been employed in the city for some time. The happy couple were here Sunday for a sort time at the home of the groom's parents.

Donald Rodden closed a deal last week for the purchase from Mrs. Helen McWilliams of the house and lot on 4th St., adjacent the Darrel Mathesons.

The stork was busy around these parts the past week leaving babies at 3 homes: a son with Mr. & Mrs. Don Rodden.

Tuesday evening about 8 o'clock Don Rodden struck a deer on M-76 about 5 miles east of town, Don was going to St. Helen when the accident happened. The right front fender and headlight were completely damaged.

Don Rodden has moved his family to St. Helen where he has been employed for several months.

Mr & Mrs Don Rodden and little son left last week for a visit with friends and relatives in Detroit. The formers mother Lottie Rodden accompanied them to Detroit and returned home Saturday with her son Edwin who remained here over the weekend.
