In the death of Mrs. Helen Flint Williams, Milton loses one of its oldest residents. For over a half century – 57 years – she has lived in the village.
She was born May 13, 1848 in Lesper, Livingston County, New York, and was the daughter of Solomon and Rebecca Flint, one of nine children in the family. In 1853 she came to Wisconsin with her parents, who settled in the Town of Milton, among the early pioneers of the community. So Mrs. Williams grew to womanhood amid those early pioneers days and has lived to see the wonderful changes that have taken place in her long lifetime.
She was married to Dennis Williams, July 23, 1871, and has lived in the village of Milton ever since with the exception of one year in the state of Missouri. Her husband died 16 years ago. She has been a member of the Milton Methodist church for over 40 years.
She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Arrington east of the village of Milton, Jan. 15, 1929, aged 80 years, 8 months and two days. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. E. F. Arrington of Milton, Wis., and by one brother Eber Flint, of Iowa.
Funeral services were held in her home in Milton, Wis., at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 1929, Rev. Anton Hatlestad, officiating. Burial was in the Milton cemetery.

Dennis Williams 1831-1913
"The Journal-Telephone", Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Thursday, Jan. 23, 1913, p 1.
Dennis Williams was born April 21, 1831, in Darien, N. Y., where he lived until a young man of nineteen. For some time after this he lived with his elder brother in Buffalo, N. Y. He came to Milton in 1857 or 1858. He has been engaged in different lines of business here, the last of which was the livery business of Williams & Anderson.
He was married to Miss Helen Flint on July 23, 1871, who survives him. No children were born to them, but their foster child, Mrs. Lulu Arrington, has been their great help and comforter.
Mr. Williams has been for over fifty years a member of the Masonic fraternity, being one of the charter members of the Milton Lodge, and was at the time of his death, its oldest member.
He quietly passed away the morning of January 14, 1913, aged 81 years, 8 months and 23 days. Mr. Williams was quiet and undemonstrative. He aided many who were in need without making it known to the world. He was a familiar figure and will be much missed.
The funeral took place from the home at 2 o'clock on Thursday, Rev. M. A. Drew officiating. Mr. and Mrs. S. Summers furnished the music. The Masonic lodge attended in a body, and had charge of the service at the cemetery.
Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Finley Williams, Janesville; Mrs. O. D. Aeppli and daughter Edna, of Edgebrook, Ill.; Miss Nettie Grier, Milwaukee; and Miss Ruth Rockwood of Delavan.
