MYRTLE BEACH Lionel James ''Jim'' Brown, Jr., age 81, of Deerfield Plantation, died Friday, Sept 10, 2004, at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Mr. Brown was born May 10, 1923 in New York City, a son of the late Lionel J. and Florence Marto Brown. He retired from New York City Public Library as a Special Investigator. Mr. Brown was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Myrtlewood Golf Course and was an avid golfer. He was a very loving and caring husband.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his son, Raymond J. Brown; stepmother, Louise Brown; uncle, John Marto, and grandmother, Anna Marto. Surviving are his beloved wife, Gilda Brown; sister, Lee Passaro and her husband, Anthony of Va.; nephews, Robert Macario and Dennis Macario and his wife, Leigh, of Long Island, N.Y.; John Passaro and his wife, Jacie of Va. and Michael Passaro and his wife, Linda and their children of N.J.; nieces, Debbie Macario of Fla., and Lisa Schneider and her husband, Theodore of Australia; grand nephew, Darren Macario and his wife, Lee Ann and their children of Long Island, N.Y.; grand niece, Jacki Chesna and her husband, William and their son of Long Island, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at the St. Michael Catholic Church directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
