The funeral of Hans Hanson, former Janesville resident who resided in Fairfield for the past three years, was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Whaley-Overton funeral home, with the Rev. Talmage Hartman, pastor of the Emerald Grove Congregational church, officiating. Burial was at Emerald Grove. Pallbearers were: Gilbert Larson, Sr., George Irish, Arthur G. Ransom, W. J. Florin, J. W. McArthur, and George L. Scott.

Mrs. Hans Hanson, 75, died Wednesday morning in the home of her son, Merle A. Hanson, 426 N. Jackson street, where she had been making her home. She had been in failing health for five years.
The former Julia S. Akin was born Nov. 20, 1868, in the town of Harmony, and married Hans Hanson in Whitewater Dec. 28, 1898. They lived on farms in the town of Bradford and town of Johnstown before moving to Janesville in 1919. Mr. Hanson died in February, 1939.
Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Emerald Grove Congregational church and the Emerald Grove Royal Neighbors camp.
Survivors are two sons, Everett H. Hanson, town of Bradford, and Merle A. Hanson, this city; one daughter, Mrs. Allan Richards, route 1, Darien; five grandchildren; a brother, William Akin, Missoula, Mont.; and two sisters, Mrs. John A. MacArthur, Emerald Grove, and Mrs. C. C. Shields, Inglewood, Calif. Another daughter, Gladys, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Overton funeral home.
