Martha Goddard Babcock, wife of Edwin A. Babcock, was born at Fort Atkinson, Ia., January 26, 1871, and died at Milton, Wis., May 30, 1924.
She was the daughter of Josiah and Martha Tubbs Goddard. She was baptized by Rev. Lewis A. Platts and joined the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church of which she remained a faithful member until her death. Besides her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Martha Cartwright, a brother, Charles Goddard, and by three daughters, Gladys, the wife of Professor Robert W. West of Madison, Wis., Miss Doris Babcock and Miss Lillian Babcock, both of Milton.
Farewell services were held at the home, June 2, 1924, and burial was made in the Milton cemetery. E. S.

Mrs. E. A. Babcock passed away at her home in Milton, Friday, May 30, 1924, at the age of 53 years, 4 months, and 4 days. About the first of last January she underwent an operation at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, from which she seemed to recover. About a month after her return home gall bladder trouble developed and she gradually failed in health from that time.
Martha Goddard was born January 26, 1871, at Fort Atkinson, Iowa, and resided there until 18 years of age when she moved with her parents to New Auburn, Wis. She attended school at Fort Atkinson, Iowa, and the high school at Caledonia, Minn. She came to Milton in 1900, and on May 19, 1902, she was united in marriage with Edwin A. Babcock of Milton, at Janesville, returning to Milton, where they have since made their home. Mrs. Babcock was baptized by Rev. Lewis A. Platts and joined the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church of which she was a faithful member until her death.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Babcock is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gladys West of Madison; Doris and Lillian Babcock of Milton, her mother, Mrs. Cartwright of Milton, and a brother, Charles Goddard of New Auburn, Wis.
Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, June 2, 1924, at 2:30, and were in charge of Rev. Edwin Shaw. Burial was made in the Milton Cemetery.

Funeral services for Edwin Babcock, 88, Milton, were held Monday afternoon in the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, the Rev. Elmo Fitz Randolph officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. Pitt Holmes, Jack Garnett, Wayne Davidson, Donald Kerr, Homer Green and Theron Ochs.
The son of Stillman and Frances Babcock, he was born in Rock County July 9, 1872. He was a plumber and beekeeper.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Chapin, Janesville, and Mrs. Edwina Newmann, Edgerton; a step-daughter, Genevieve LaRowe, Beloit. A brother preceded him in death.
