"The Journal-Telephone", Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Thursday, May 11, 1922, p 1.
Lucinda M. Saunders was born at Alfred, Allegany County, N. Y., June 30, 1832, and died at Milton Junction, May 5, 1922. She was the fourth of six daughters born to Christopher and Lydia Coon Saunders.
In 1844 the family came west and settled on a farm on the Rock River road. This home continued in the family until about three years ago.
On October 28, 1857 she was united in marriage to Stephen C. Boss. To them was born one child, Louie L. Boss. The husband died March 5, 1886 and the son December 25, 1917.
In her youth, Mrs. Boss made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized into the fellowship of the Seventh Day Baptist church at Milton. Elder Varnum Hull was the pastor at the time. When the Rock River church was organized, they joined there. The family came to Milton later on that the son might have the advantages of the college. Mrs. Boss then transferred her membership to Milton.
After a time she and son went to live on the old family homestead. In the Spring of 1912, Mrs. Boss came to Milton Junction to make her home with her sister, Miss Lois A. Saunders, who is the sole survivor of the family.
Farewell services were held at Milton Junction on Sabbath afternoon, May 6, in which Pastors Van Horn and Jordan had part. Two hymns of comfort were sung by Mrs. Gillaspy. Interment was in the cemetery at Rock River.
