John Powell of Stafford, company of Militia in Alarm of Bernard and Royalton, which shows he was in service ten days. His name appears on Pay Table Office October 27, 1781, for party of men that served in the State service under Brig. General Ollcott in the month of November 1780. Service 17 days. His name appears on payroll dated Windsor, April 13, 1781, of Captain Timothy Brush's company of militia employed in guarding and scouting at the time fo the alarm at Newbury under the direction of Col.
