Carroll Agassiz Davis was born at Walworth, Wis., April 22, 1866, and died April 22, 1941. He was the oldest of seven children born to Arnold Carpenter and Caroline Randolph Davis.
Carroll spent practically all his life in the vicinity of Farina and was for many years a business man in the village. When a boy sixteen years of age he was baptized and joined the Seventh Day Baptist Church and remained a member until his death.
He was twice married: October 22, 1890, to Martha E. Carlisle of Farina and to the union one child, Dessie Wal Kenyon, was born. October 19, 1909, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Edith Whitford Green; one child Arnold Carpenter, Jr., was born to the union.
Survivors aside from his wife, his daughter, and his son are three sisters: Mrs. Ethel Irish of Peoria, Ill.; Mrs. Fern Johanson of Pipestone, Minn.; and Mrs. Aster Spears of Onida, S. Da.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. L. Hill and burial was made in the Farina cemetery. C. L. H.

Mrs. Martha Eliza Davis, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Carlisle, was born at West Hallock, Ill., Sept. 18, 1863, and died at her home in Farina, Ill., Nov. 2, 1906.
Her parents came to Farina when she was three years old. For eleven years she taught in the public schools. Oct. 21, 1890, she was united in marriage to Carroll A. Davis. To this union was born one daughter. At the age of eighteen she was baptized by Eld. C. M. Lewis, and united with the Farina Church. Her cheerful disposition and gladness to serve others won for her many friends, who now unite in sympathy with the bereaved husband and daughter and other relatives. Farewell services were held on Sabbath afternoon, conducted by her pastor. Rev. C. A. Burdick offered prayer, and Rev. L. D. Seager spoke of the live work of Mrs. Davis. W. D. B.

Edith Whitford Davis, daughter of Edward M. and Josephine Burdick Maxson, was born at Farina, Ill., March 16, 1877, and died Oct. 1, 1961, at a sanitarium in Los Angeles, Calif., where she had been a patient for eight years.
Edith was married to Byron Green on Sept. 13, 1901. Her husband died in 1906. Of their three children one, Homer Green of Milton, Wis., survives.
Mrs. Green was married to Carroll A. Davis Oct 19, 1909. He preceded her in death April 22, 1941. Their one son, Arnold of San Fernando, Calif., survives. Ten years ago Mrs. Davis left Farina to live with him.
She united with the Farina Seventh Day Baptist Church Dec. 1, 1888. Her body was brought back to Farina for burial. Due to the illness of the pastor the services were conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Becker (Methodist) at the Seventh Day Baptist Church.
In addition to her two sons she is survived by one brother, E. L. Whitford of Crystal Beach, Fla., six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. A. A. A.
