Notes for Deacon Elisha CROSBY
The 1810 census shows ELISHA CROSBY in Jefferson County in the Town of Adams. By 1820 he had moved to the Town of Henderson, where he bought land.

One of the constituent members of the Seventh-day Baptist church in Adams, Jefferson Co., New York in 1822.

Ordained Deacon of the SDB Church in Adams in 1833.

The Rhode Island Historical Society Library has some correspondence between some of these brothers. Of particular interest is one from Willet Clarke to Henry Clarke, about 1810 as I recall, describing his family at that time ... this son is married and has 2 sons, etc., that sort of thing. It did mention something nice about son-in-law Crosby, that he was industrious or some such.

Died - In Henderson, Jefferson Co., N. Y., on the 25th of July last, Deacon Elisha Crosby, aged 65 years. Brother Crosby embraced the religion of Christ some 24 years ago, and was about the same time converted to the Sabbath of the Lord. He was one of the thirteen who at that time were organized into a church know as the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Adams. He was afterwards chosen as Deacon, which office he filled with honor to himself and entire satisfaction to the church. The latter years of his life were marked by a strong and active faith, and a hearty devotion to the interests of the church. He had been, for a number of years, afflicted with a cancerous affection, which, in defiance of the skill of physicians, finally brought him down to the grave. Although his flesh was daily consuming, and his body tormented with the keenest pains, yet his soul was calm and tranquil, big with the hope of immortality, and he patiently waited the coming of his lord, until the eyes of his faith saw him approaching, when, with shouts of triumph and hosannas to God, he bade his friends farewell. Notes for Sarah “Sally” (Spouse 1)
"Regarding your Elisha and Sally who married in 1802. I rather doubt that they married in Northern New York as most of them settled after 1804. I would be inclined to think that they married in Berlin New York prior to heading North. Not a fact just what I would assume more possible.", Pat Regan, 2001
