Joan C. Lawton, 86, of Sparta, Tenn., died April 18, 2005.
She was born May 15, 1918 in Wisconsin, to Wilmer and Darl Risdon Crandall. She had been a homemaker.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Marjorie Lawton of Walling, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Tom Schroeder of Sparta, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Joe, Bill and Andre Lawton, Heidi Kennedy, Chris Corey, Steve and Jeff Klessig and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Lawton; a grandson, James Lawton; and a sister, Marjorie Nelson.
Services were held Friday, April 22, 2005, at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Burke and Rev. Susan Gardner officiated. Whitson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
