Private services for Clarence "Buck" Chadbourne, 77, of Fairfield were held in the Fairfield Cemetery.
Mr. Chadbourne died Oct. 1, 2002, in Lincoln City, Ore., while vacationing with his wife. He was born in Fairfield and graduated from Armijo High School in 1943. He joined the Naval Air Corps during World War II and then worked for California Packing Corporation for 17 years. He managed the family fruit ranch for 20 years, worked for the Fairfield-Suisun School District, and then worked for the Solano County Superintendent of Schools before his retirement. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Mr. Chadbourne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois; daughters, Cynthia Chadbourne of Tuolumne, and Joan of Loma Rica; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Linda of Chico; three grandchildren; and, four great-grandchildren.
