John Delancey CLARKE enlisted in the New York State Militia at Sacketts Harbor and served through two enlistments from 1812-1815 as a private under the command of Captains Daniel TALCOTT, Grout HOISNGTON and Sterling WILCOX.
Following the death of his third wife, Chloe, John Delancey Clarke, then about 57 years old (abt 1845), came with his six unmarried children to the then Wisconsin Territory.
