Mary Green, relict of William B. Green, was born in Rhode Island, June 5, 1794 and died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. H. C. Coon, of Alfred Center, N. Y., Oct. 17, 1886, aged 92 years, 4 months, and 12 days. She was the daughter of Clark and Sarah Hiscox, and great-granddaughter of Eld. Thomas Hiscox. At the age of eighteen years, she was baptized by Eld. Matthew Stillman, and united with the First Hopkinton Church. In 1818, she was married to Wm. B. Green, and came to Independence in 1834, where she united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church, with which she remained a worthy member until death. Up to within three or four months of her death, she enjoyed excellent health, retaining her faculties in a wonderful manner, both of body and of mind. We think about her last work was to make and donate a quilt for missions, showing she had not lost her interest in the cause of Christ. God has been very good to her in giving her so many years, and such kind children to care for her. She was brought to Independence for her funeral and burial, Elders Titsworth and Backus assisting in the services. A mother in Israel has fallen. J. K.
