Jean Reynolds
Jean C. Reynolds, of Boulder, Colo., formerly of Southington, passed away May 1, 2009, after a lengthy illness, withstood in good spirit. She would have been 85 on May 3. The widow of Robert "Bob" Reynolds, she was born in Meriden in 1924, the daughter of the late Henry H. Crandall and Mildred (Trafton) Crandall.
She graduated from Meriden High School in 1941 and worked in the local defense industry after the attack on Pearl Harbor. In 1945, she married and began the family that has always cherished her good cheer and optimism. She is survived by her son, Dale Reynolds, of London, England; and her daughters, Judith Reynolds, of Brunswick, Maine, Carol Reynolds, of Westminster, Colo., and Bonnie Hepp, and her husband, Alan, of Arvada, Colo. She also leaves her grandsons, Nick Reynolds and Peter Reynolds, of Meriden, and Benny DresnerReynolds, of London, England; her granddaughters, Rachel Jane Johnson, of Westminster, Colo., Megan Laurel Boak, of Louisville, Colo., and Caroline "Cary" Taylor, of Boulder, Colo. She is also survived by her greatgrandson, Jesse Bragg, of Front Royal, Va.
She leaves behind her four sisters, Geraldine "Gen" Dobratz Godburn, of Meriden, Faustina "Fausie" Small, of Oakfield, Maine, Barbara Parmelee, of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Donna Butterfield, of Meriden and Florida. She is also survived by her two brothers, Hilson "Hish" Crandall, of Crystal River, Fla., and Henry "Hank" Crandall Jr., of Middlefield. She has also left more than 30 nieces and nephews and their many children and grandchildren.
Throughout her life, she was a real friend to many people. She was known for being a great homemaker with a pleasant personality, lots of fun, and remarkably understanding of others. She gave help to many and was great company.
The funeral service was held May 8, 2009 at Crist Mortuary, Boulder, Colo. Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley at the Web site, www.boulderhumane. org.
