Janesville - Jean A. (Bumgarner) Haugen, age 87, a long time resident of Janesville, died Dec. 30, 1995, at Lakeland, FL. She was born Dec. 9, 1908, in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Jordan) Bumgarner. Jean was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Janesville. For many years she was very active in Senior Center activities; she did a lot of baking and cooking at and for the center. She was director of Parker Pen Kazoo Band, played piano in the Senior Strings Band with her husband, Ted. She was a member of the Choristers and was an active member of the board of directors. She was a member of KAYRA and RSVP. Jean and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
Survivors include her children: Shirley (Bob) Scott of Lakeland, FL, Patricia (Art) Maresch of Janesville, and Arthur (Mary) Brink of Janesville; a step-daughter, Judy (Mel) Mislivecek of Longwood, FL; a step-son, Teddy (Willie) Haugen of Zephyrhills, FL; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Dorothy (Al) Bassett of Oak Harbor, WA, Gerri (Gene) Amundson, and Ann Wienke of Janesville; 2 brothers, Dwain (Ellen) Bumgarner of Bend, OR, and Dewitt (Doris) Bumgarner of Fremont, CA. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Marcus Hutchins, Arthur H. Brink, and Ted Haugen; a daughter, Barbara J. Hoffman; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Fri., Jan. 12, 1996, at Schneider Funeral Home, 1800 E. Racine St., Janesville. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Orfordville Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Marcus was in US Army with the guard unit in Janesville, WI. Company B. 107th quartermaster regiment. He was in the Army from 1939 until 1944. He also attended Milton College at some time.

Marcus A. Hutchins, 60, Carson City, Nev., and a resident of Milton until 10 years ago, died Friday, Aug. 11, in his home following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, in Carson City, with burial there.
The son of Rev. Jesse and Edith Hutchins, he was born Jan. 14, 1907 in Alfred, New York. He attended Milton College. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army from 1939 to 1944. He was also employed at Fisher Body before moving to Nevada.
Surviving are his wife, Opal of Carson City; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Scott of Chicago, Mrs. Barbara Stevens and Mrs. Patricia Maresch, both of Janesville; several grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Burdick of Milton, Mrs. John (Ruth) Manogue of Milton Junction, and Mrs. Edward (Eleanor) Koch of Redwood City, Calif.
