Engagement Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Domecq of Denair and announcing the engagement of their daughter Joyce, to Robert Morrissey of Hornitos.
Miss Domecq is a graduate of Denair High school with the class of 1955. Morrissey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morrissey II, Hornitos cattle ranchers. He is a graduate of Mariposa High school with the class of "52, and is engaged in ranching with his father.
The are planning a fall wedding.

Joyce Elaine Domecq Became Bride of Robert Morrissey
Miss Joyce Elaine Domecq of Denair became the bride of Robert Taylor Morrissey of Le Grand, at a 6:30 p.m. wedding on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Turlock. A reception followed at the War Memorial hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Domecq of Denair Morrissey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richie Morrissey of Hornitos.

Joyce Domecq, Robert Morrissey Recite Vows in Turlock Church
The Sacred Heart Catholic church of Turlock was the setting for the wedding of Joyce Domecq of Denair and Robert Morrissey of Hornitos, Saturday, Nov. 12. The Rev. Fr. Arthur Ribeiro officiated at the rites.
The bride escorted to the altar by her father, wore a white brocaded taffeta gown with drop waist, bouffant skirt extending into a chapel length train. The bodice of the gown was fashioned with a built up neckline and calla lily sleeves. The neckline and hipline was piped with white crystalene. Her fingertip length veil of French illusion net was held in place by a heart shaped cap of brocaded taffeta and crystalene match her dress and she carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid and streamers of white satin ribbon and bouvardias [sic].
Maid of honor was Miss Elnora Morrissey, sister of the groom. Her dress was of bronze crystalene with matching hat.
Mrs. Vince DiGiola and Mrs. Julie Block, friends of the bride, were bridesmaids. They were dressed identically in brown iridescent embroidered taffeta with matching hats. All attendants of the bride wore dresses made similar to the bride's with three quarter length sleeves, open neckline and bouffant skirts. They wore velvet gloves and carried colonial bouquet of bronze fuji chrysanthemums with moss green satin streamers. The bridal gown and those worn by the honor attendants were made and designed by the bride and her mother.
Best man was Wendell Baxter of Le Grand friend of the groom. Richard Sawyer of Hilmar, cousin of the groom, and Louis Domecq, Denair, cousin of the bride, were the groom's men.
Victor Lemieux of San Lorenzo uncle of the bride, and Arthur Hartmon of Los Angeles, uncle of the groom, were ushers.
Mrs. Alvin Domecq sang "Lord Who at Cainas Wedding Feast" and "Panis Angehcus." She was accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Domecq, who also played the incidental music, recessional and processional music.
The bride's mother chose a changeable black and ice green dress with black and ice green accessories for her daughter's wedding. She pinned on a white philanophis orchid corsage.
The groom's mother was attired in a bright navy dress with navy and white accessories and pinned on white philanophis orchid corsage.
Following the single ring wedding rites, a reception was held in the Turlock War Memorial building with 150 relatives and friends congratulating the couple.
Mrs. Lester Domecq cut the three-tiered wedding cake, assisted by Mrs. Victor Lemieux of San Lorenzo and Mrs. Philip Short of Berkeley. Mrs. Leland Bates presided at the punchbowl, assisted by Mrs. Robert Domecq of La Trobe and Miss Patricia Moore of Richmond. Mrs. Gilbert Domecq
poured coffee, assisted by Mrs. Gary Stotts and Miss Julie Domecq. Assisting in serving was Mrs. Donald Moore of Richmond.
Miss Theatis Lemieux of San Lorenzo, cousin of the bride, secured the signatures of the guests. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. Louis Santos and Mrs. Clay Steammerjohn.
Wedding bells hung over the fireplace decorated with ivy and ferns, banked with baskets of white chrysanthemums and gladioli.
For her honeymoon trip to Southern California, Las Vegas and Boulder dam, the new Mrs. Morrissey donned a brown wool dress with brown and turquoise accessories, rust brown coat, and she pinned on the white orchid from her prayer book. The couple are now residing at Le Grand.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester L. Domecq, Denair. She graduated from Denair High school in 1955. Her affiliation were with the Girls' Athletic Assn., Girls' Glee Club, El Coyote staff, and she was the senior class president.
The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morrissey of Hornitos, was graduated from Mariposa High school in 1952 and was active in Future Farmers of America.
