Mrs. Francelia E. Beach was born February 16, 1846, and died December 31, 1917, at Milton Junction, Wis.
Mrs. Beach was adopted when about two weeks old by Amos and Julia Ann Stillman at Brookfield, N. Y., and two years later moved with her people to this state where they settled near Lake Koshkonong. Sometime early in life, the exact date is not known, she professed Christ and united with the Rock River Seventh-day Baptist church. Later when the Rev. Henry N. Jordan was serving the Milton Junction Seventh-day Baptist church she transferred her membership to this church where she remained a faithful member to the time of her death when it was transferred to the church Triumphant.
On October 15, 1871, she was united in marriage to Menzo W. Beach by the Rev. J. C. Rogers. To this union was born one son, Amos Beach, who still survives his mother. Her husband departed this life April 18, 1910.
Mrs. Beach was a faithful wife, a loving and indulgent mother, a kind neighbor and a true friend. Her life was characterized by an unselfishness that endeared her to all that knew her. She was always willing to sacrifice that others might have more of the comforts of this life and like Dorcas of old she will be loved for her many deeds of unselfish service and love.
She was a woman of sterling Christian integrity. She loved her Saviour and devoted her life to his church, and in company with others, worked for the coming of his Kingdom. She enjoyed and treasured the fellowship of her brothers and sisters in Christ, and found much comfort in their love and care in her last illness. She grieved over her faults and failures and her one burden seems to have been that she was not good enough to die. But she never doubted the love and goodness of God and we may rest assured that He who knows the inner motives and love of his children will love and care for his own. We believe she has gone home and today, is among the redeemed of earth. Some times, like Lazarus, she had her poor things but up there she will be comforted for she has gone to the heavenly home to rest "in light and sunshine in the presence of her King."
The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Edgar D. Van Horn, Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 1918, in the Seventh-day Baptist church and the body was laid to rest in the Milton Junction cemetery.
