Luanna E. Rose, daughter of Nicholas Coon, was born in Milton February 26, 1844, and died at her home in Milton Junction October 29, 1894. She was married to Anson Rose October 31, 1863, with whom she lived devotedly 31 years lacking 2 days.
She suffered much from an internal cancer, but her Christian faith upheld her. Her friends will miss her very much, and extend their sympathies to the bereaved husband.
The funeral services were held in the S. D. B. church Wednesday, October 31, 1894, conducted by her pastor, Rev. G. W. Burdick, assisted by Revs. W. C. Whitford, and E. M. Dunn of Milton.

In 1873 there is an A. L. Rose farm in section 21 of Milton Township just southeast of Clear Lake. Ansel on his death cert. Anson Leroy Rose was born January 12th, 1841, in the town of Almond, Allegany County, N. Y., and passed away at his home near Milton Junction, December 30th, 1926, lacking only 13 days of being 86 years old.
He was the second child in a family of ten children, born to Valorous and Cynthia Lamphier Rose.
In 1846, he came with his parents to the town of Milton and settled at the foot of Lake Koshkonong, which place is now called Newville. A few years later they settled on a little farm near Clear Lake.
He spent a few years in the northern part of the state, in the lumber business; making several trips on a lumber raft between Lake Pippin and St. Louis.
In the winter of 1862, during a series of revival meetings conducted by Elder James Rogers, he was converted, baptized and joined the Rock River S. D. B. church.
In the year 1863, October 31st, he was married to Luanna Coon, only daughter of G. N. and Eusebia Burdick Coon. In the fall of 1867, he built the house which has since been his home.
For fifteen years he was proprietor of the pleasure grounds known as "Rose's Park" on the south side of Clear Lake; where churches, schools and all pleasure seekers were made welcome.
Mrs. Rose having passed away on the 31st of October, 1894, on the thirty-first anniversary of their marriage, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Osborn, Milton Junction, Milton Junction, one niece, three nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. Also by Miss Ida Oehrke, who has been a most faithful home keeper since the death of his wife; during his declining years, has given him painstaking and devoted care.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, in the Methodist church at Milton Junction with the Rev Edwin Shaw of Milton officiating, assisted by Rev. Anton Hatlestad.
The Odd Fellows took charge of the services at the grave in the Milton Junction cemetery.
